Working on another approach to the same goal. On our end, we refused to take VC money at all, and instead got entirely grant funded. It was along and painful process to find that money, but now we find ourselves writing our bylaws with no shareholders to answer to or enrich, and we intend to write them in a way that forbids all kinds of enshittification, especially those kind related to monetization practices (ads, data selling, etc).
