Thanks Nancy. I couldn’t agree more. In fundraising efforts so far, I’ve found Nick Hanauer, Mark Zuckerberg, and quite a few others of that cohort to be wary of appearing too controversial or not wishing to put their name behind UBI just now. At least so far that’s been my observation. They seem to think like cautious investors who only like to get behind sure bets. I expect, we’ll have to build it to a point in which it seems inevitable to them, and also popular, and then they’ll jump on board to “save the day” with their help. It can be quite disillusioning. Here’s hoping they wake up to it soon, because we in the movement could really use support to start broadcasting the message more loudly and effectively. I did manage to get one big fish on board our project, and it was partially thanks to another article I wrote exploring how the philanthropy system is broken, and how we should create a world in which we don’t have to turn to billionaires in order to try and solve any major problems.
